Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor
Winner of the 1977 Newbery Medal, this is a remarkably moving novel — one that has impressed the hearts and minds of millions of readers. Set in Mississippi at the height of the Depression, it is the story of one family's struggle to maintain their integrity, pride, and independence in the face of racism and social injustice. And, too, it is Cassie's story — Cassie Logan, an independent girl who discovers over the course of an important year why having land of their own is so crucial to the Logan family, even as she learns to draw strength from her own sense of dignity and self-respect.

Why did they run when that bus was coming.
ReplyDeleteI am on page 212 and I am wondering if Cassie's dad is going to be okay? I also wonder if his leg really got run over by the wagon? I wonder who shot Cassie's dad? Another thing I have been wondering is that why is T.J such a jerk?
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is that this book is good but it gets boring at parts and it could be more detailed.
I think it's a very interesting&breath taking book from what I've read but i think Cassie should be less careless but she is a very good big sister the reason I think it's interesting is because they'll do or say something but will wait to tell you why they did or said it.
