Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins
When Gregor falls through a grate in the laundry room of his apartment building, he hurtles into the dark Underland, where spiders, rats, cockroaches coexist uneasily with humans. This world is on the brink of war, and Gregor's arrival is no accident. A prophecy foretells that Gregor has a role to play in the Underland's uncertain future. Gregor wants no part of it — until he realizes it's the only way to solve the mystery of his father's disappearance. Why did Boots jump down the hole in the first place?

- Why did Gregor follow Boots ? instead of telling their mom for help ?

- Did Gregor's mom know there was a hole in the laundry room ? Was she worried she had not seen them ?
- Mallorie L. , I'm not sure why Boots jumped in the hole. But if I had to make a inference it would be that she was wondering around , and kids usually around the age of 2 are curious , so she probably jumped in the hole not thinking it was that deep. But that's just an inference.
