Leepike Ridge by ND Wilson
Eleven-year-old Thomas Hammond is in for the ride of his life when he's swept downstream and underground aboard a crumbling raft of Styrofoam. Washing up on a dark subterranean "beach," his only companions are an impulsive dog named Argus and a corpse, from which he takes a flashlight and an all-too-limited supply of batteries. What Tom finds under Leepike Ridge—a castaway, four graves, a tomb, and buried treasure—will answer questions he hadn't known to ask and change his life forever. Now, if he can only find his way home again. . . .

ReplyDeleteThis story Leepike Ridge is about a character named Thomas Hammonda 11 year old. A boy that had to have a heart and no fear for what happens to him. When he lived on Leep ridge, but what happens to him he would have never seen it coming. He was ridding a floating slab of refrigertor packing foam down the stream and dragged underground and all had was is what he found and that is a flash light a castaway, crawdads, four graves and tomb and some buried treasure tom will have to survive off of those things until he finds his way back home or is rescued.
ReplyDeleteI think this book is an OK story. It could have had more adventure or suprises and more funny moments in the story it was not what i thought it was. It was like a bad version of hatchet and thats way i dont lke it cause if you read Hatchet first then you will think this story is a worst. ersion of Leepike Ridge and that my opinion if you want a story that’s better and more thrills then i would say read hatchet and then judge but you will proble pick hatchet.

I read the book Leepike Ridge and i loved it the book. It is about a kid named Tom who found himself under the rapids on a styraphone piece of paper and was washed up on a underground beach with a dog a corpse and a bag full of stuff. Then later in the book he found a guy living underground for 3 years. His name was Reg and he was living on crawdads. Tom fell asleep in the cemetary room of Reg's home the next day when Tom woke up Reg said that this was the day that they were getting out. There was a crack in the ground big enough for him and Tom to fit into and they dived through there. Reg and Tom were in another room of the chamber and they were climbing and swimming for hours. Then they were in this chamber and it was an animal cemetary. There was a bunch of animals and they thought they found the treasure but they didn't so they kept moving onto the other room. There was 2 doors they could not get through and Tom had a little knife and when Reg went to bed Tom started to carve a hole in the wood door. He made a little hole and when Reg woke up he was trying to bust down the door. He did thanks to Tom's knife and the hole and inside there was the real treasure but at the end of the room there was winding stairs they started to climb them. And do you know what happend???? That i can't tell you so while all this is going on Tom's mom Elizabeth is at home and this group of guys wanted to use her house as a headquarters and they tied her arms and legs together and put her on her bed and and and you will have to read the rest yourself because it's too close to the end.

The book Leepike Ridge is about a 11 year old boy Tom who's mom got a new refrigerator and wanted Tom to play with it which he didn't so he kicked the box which made the inside parts go flying. His mom made hi go pic it up and he only fond the foam. Later that night he went out to go lay on the foam in the river. All of a sudden he gets waken up by the sound of rushing water and gets sucked under the water into a cave. When he is in the under water cave he finds a dead guy with a head lamp, sardines, pocket knife and a ring that he kept to show to the police when he gets out. A couple days later dog comes in and his name is Argus. They stay in there for a couple more days then the water starts rising and they have to find a way out. They find small hole in the wall and start climb through it when they get to the end they are still in the under ground cave but in a different area where they meet a guy named Reg. Reg has lived in the under ground cave for three years. Reg shows Tom his cemetery room where his dad is. People said that his dad died in a plane crash which he actually died from a bomb when people where trying to makes tunnels in the caves. They start heading out trying to get out and eventually find a storm cellar and get out under Elizabeths bed( Tom's mom) where she is tied up and Phil the guy who killed Ted ( Tom's dad) from the explosion was talking to her and Reg fought with him and Phil shot Argus in the back. Phil eventually got killed by Reg and the story ends there.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion of the book is that I liked it. I would recommend it to y friends because most of them like books about someone who gets trapped and needs to do a lot of things to get out. I would rate it a 10 out of 10 because had some action which I like about books unlike rules where it just talked about someone life which got really boring after awhile. My favorite part is when Reg tells to Tom about the albino crawdads because I am very interested in Insects and such.

Eleven year old Tom lives on the very top of a mountain with his mom Elizabeth. Tom gets really mad at his mom one day because she might marry a man named Jeffery. Tom’s dad died three years ago so Tom decided he doesn’t like Jeffery. So when Tom gets mad he decides to sneak out in the middle of the night. So when Tom sneaks out he goes down to the river that is right by his house. So he walks down to the river. Then he sees a big piece of styrofoam that was from a few days ago when his mom got a new fridge and she gave him the big piece of styrofoam to play with. So he gets an idea. His idea is to see if the styrofoam with float on the water if he’s on it. So he puts the styrofoam on the water and it floats then he gets on it and he starts to float down the river. Then he falls asleep. When he wakes up the calm, peaceful river turned in to vicious river rapids and was pulling him under. He then gets sucked under and goes under the mountain to an under ground cave.
ReplyDeleteA few days later he finds a flashlight and some batteries that was in a bag next to a dead person. After he gets the flashlight he sees a dog swimming toward the little piece of land that Tom was on. So he and the dog are in the cave then the water rises and there is no more space for him to stand on. Then he sees a really big crack in the wall and he and the dog squeeze into it. He follows the narrow path and ends up in another cave, but this cave is very different because in this cave there’s a man in it named Reg.
Will Tom, Reg, and the dog go home to their family’s? Will they ever decide to escape? If you want to figure out then you’ll have to read Leepike Ridge by N.D. Wilson.
My opinion on Leepike Ridge by N.D. Wilson is I think it was really good and it held my interest. Some parts were really sad and some parts were happy and I liked this book because it was unique and it has a lot of different events and a lot of different things that will hold your interest and it had a lot of different things that will make you have many different emotions like happy, sad, scared, and many, many more! My favorite part was the end because it was really surprising and shocking, but I can’t give it away so you’ll have to read the book to find out if he will survive the vicious conditions of the cave. :]By Hanna
This book is called Leepike Ridge. By N.D. Wilson. This book is about a kid named Tom.
ReplyDeleteHe’s trapped in a underground cave under the ridge. He couldn’t find food. Tom was starving. Actually, he did find food. Sardines in a can.
Then, getting sucked in some water like three times. He found a person. He
found Reg. Tom learned a survival skill. He learned how to cook
the crawdads. Crawdads is a nickname for a type of catfish-like blind fish that
live in caves. And they are gray. Thats what I visualized. They had to use the batteries
to make fire. The batteries are mainly for the headlamp. Reg didn’t use up all the batteries.
I liked the book because it’s an adventurous book. I liked the ending. It’s really cool. But I can’t tell you because I will give away the ending. If you like adventurous books, then read this book.
