Miri lives on a mountain where, for generations, her ancestors have quarried stone and lived a simple life. Then word comes that the king's priests have divined her small village the home of the future princess. In a year's time, the prince himself will come and choose his bride from among the girls of the village. The king's ministers set up an academy on the mountain, and every teenage girl must attend and learn how to become a princess.
Miri soon finds herself confronted with a harsh academy mistress, bitter competition among the girls, and her own conflicting desires to be chosen and win the heart of her childhood best friend. But when bandits seek out the academy to kidnap the future princess, Miri must rally the girls together and use a power unique to the mountain dwellers to save herself and her classmates.

Miri soon finds herself in a conflict with the other teenage girl at a Princess Academy. There is a very mean teacher that will put the girls in a closet and smack them on the hand with a yard stick. She doesn't want to be Princess but she also wants to see the mystery of the low land. Miri lives on Mt. Eskel and nobody has ever learned about writing or anything. Soon the prince comes and leaves not picking a girl to be his wife. As soon as he leaves bandits come and take the future Princess hostage. When the gils have no hope Miri uses quarry speech that only Mt. Eskel people can use. Soon the whole town is waiting to fight the girls out. I would recommend this book to anyone because it was unlike
ReplyDeletewhat the title says it is. I rate this book a 9 out of 10 because the girls had to use their resources to save their life's.

The main character, Miri, lives in a village next to a quarry and they cut a stone that was very valuable for a living. Then the king chooses their village as the place where his son, the prince, will choose his bride from. So the girls have to learn to be a real princess if they want to marry him.
ReplyDeleteMiri got to the academy and had a horrible teacher, the girls fought a lot, and her conflict to possibly be chosen by the prince, or to go back to the village to be with a boy she was friends with ever since they were kids. A ball was hosted about a year later so the girls can meet the prince. He left without a choice of who would be the princess. Eventually bandits came and tried to kidnap the princess and Miri used a unique power of the mountain to save all the girls and herself
My favorite part of the book was when Miri fell off the cliff but caught herself and tricked the bandit into falling off the cliff.
It was a really good book because it was full of action at the end. -Joseph
Princess Academy is about a girl named Miri. She lives on a mountain named Mt. Eskel ware they mine linder. Miri wants to mine in the query but her dad said NO. One day solders came and said that the next princess will be at Mt.Eskle. But allot of the girls did not want to go but the solders did not give them a choice if you were in the age range then you go.
ReplyDeletewhen they got there they met Olana. She is very mean she hits them when they speak out of turn and lockes them in the closet. After about 6 months of this Miri has learned to read and how to qurrey speech and also found out that the linder was worth more than the traders they trade with were telling them. Aventually Miri got the girls to run away by telling them with the qurrey speech. When they got home they were just in time to go to the festival and dance. a few days later the girls decided they would go back, but under new rules and they choose Miri to be there representative. When they got back to the academy Olana accepted the new terms and followed them. A long time later the prince came but Bretta, Miris best friend from the low lands as they call it felt sick and could not dance with the prince after the girls all danced with the prince they went to bed and then when they woke up the prince was gone without choosing a bride. bandits came after the prince left. They wanted the bride so they could ransom her. But Miri dose not give up she called her village with the query speech, the village came and the girls tried to climb out the window and some made it but others were caught by the bandits. Eventually they got the other girls but the bandit that was holding Miri was the leader and he did not give up so easy but they lured him tho the ledge and he fell but he grabbed on to Miri and was pulling her down to, but Miris dad hit him with his hammer and he let go of Miri and her dad pulled her up. when the prince came back Miri was wishing in the back of her head that he didn’t choose her and he didn't he chose Bretta.

One day, a soldier arrives and tells her that she is forced to go to a princess school to see who gets to marry the prince. Miri wants to stay home because she is starting to grow a crush on Peter.
ReplyDeleteThe school is really hard because they give you very strict punishements. There leader, Olana teaches them alot about the prince. Every girl wants to marry the prince. Unfortunutly only one gets to.
Later on in the book Miri meets a new friend, Britta. Britta and Miri are sorta the same.
Then one night is the ball to see who the prince like the best. Before the ball Britta passes out. So briita will not be able to attend. When Miri dances with the prince, she finds out that the prince likes her. She likes the prince but she still likes Peter better.
Then when its spring Miri and the other girl are alowed to go home IF they pass the test that Olana is going to give them. The girls thinks the test is hard and the result was everone failed BUT Miri and Britta. Miri stands up for the other girls and says it is unfair. So she stands up for everyone and says run! And all the girls ran.
When they come back from spring break Olana is not happy. She said that the prince will not be back for a year. All the girls winned.
But then the bandits come and everone is in shock. When they come the leader Dan says they will leave in morning and during the night when he was sleeping they got up and went thru the window and ran like the wind. When they run the bandits hear them leave so they run after them. They threaten the girls and then the parents come and fight. Miri and Britta ran but Dan had Miri and another bandit had Briita.
Who will the prince choose? Did the bandit kill Miri and Britta?
I liked the book. My favorite part was the end with Miri and Peter.
