Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief by Wendelin Van Draanen

Sammy's perusing the neighborhood with some high-powered binoculars when she spots something strange across the street at the Heavenly Hotel. A man with his hand in a pocketbook. And he's wearing gloves. Sammy's adjusting the focus while the man's stuffing a wad of cash into his pocket and looking furtively around the room. Then he looks out the window straight at Sammy. So what does she do? She waves.
Sammy's supposed to he keeping a low profile if anyone finds out that she lives with her Grandmother in government-assisted housing for the elderly they'll be evicted but now she finds herself chatting with the police on a regular basis, trying to find the thief before he finds her, trying to explain to her grandmother how she managed to get suspended on the first day of school, and trying to prove to the vice principal that she didn't really break Heather Acosta's nose. Maybe the second week of school will be better.

  1. Sammy Keyes and the hotel thief by Wendelin Van Draanen is a very funny, interesting and mysterious book. Sammy Keyes is a 13 year old girl and she’s on the prowl. She does anything and everything to find out what’s happening around her town. This time she’s in her bedroom looking out her window with binoculars. All of sudden she sees a man wearing a dark hat. He’s in a pink room and stuffing money into a bag. Who is he? Will she be the savior of the hotel across the street? Will her house be the next one broken into? Who knows with Sammy Keyes!! This is the first book to an amazing series. Happy Reading!

I really enjoyed the book and I wish I could finish the series in a day. I suggest it to you. Actually, I suggest the whole series.
